In honor of Memorial Day

I grew up in the upper South where it is the custom to visit family graves every Memorial Day with flowers, flags, trinkets, etc.  If the graves needed weeding, we did that too.  Since I no longer live close enough to visit, I’m adding some recent scrapbook pages to my blog in honor of my Mother and Grandmother.

They, along with my father and grandpa, are buried side-by-side.  Years ago I bought a
shepherd’s hook to hang flower baskets from.
On my last visit, to my surprise, the hook was still there…this was after 4 years.  A lot can be said for small towns.
